In 2021, the ‘Can You Dig It’ project commissioned Mae Diansangu to write a poem inspired by the ‘Can You Dig It’ investigation of a deserted farmstead called Upper Gairloch on the Raiders Road. Wanting to showcase a fresh perspective on Scotland's past during the pandemic, the poem was released to coincide with StAnza, Scotland's International Poetry Festival.
The Online John Muir Award programme was initiated as a response to the Covid 19 restrictions during summer 2020. The aims of the project were to actively engage with the public during Covid 19 restrictions, and provide an alternative to facilitated outdoor projects that could not be undertaken; and encourage and support people, especially families, to engage meaningfully and actively with their local environment during Covid 19 restrictions and beyond.
Dalry Community Council with GCAT commissioned three complementary reports studying Land Use and Local Place Planning in the Glenkens. The studies were funded by SoSE and Nature Scot, to set out the next steps required to embed land use considerations in the Glenkens into the medium term.
