About Glenkens Hub
The Glenkens Hub website provides community-led information for the Glenkens in south west Scotland and is a sister publication to the Glenkens Gazette. The Gazette is a bi-monthly community news magazine, which has been distributed for free around Balmaclellan, Carsphairn, Corsock, Crossmichael, Kirkpatrick Durham, Laurieston, Mossdale, New Galloway, Parton and St John’s Town of Dalry since 2000.
The Glenkens Hub is a GCAT project and was inspired by the request of the communities as part of the Glenkens and District Community Action Plan.
About GCAT
The Glenkens Community & Arts Trust has a decades long track record of economic regeneration through arts and community work in the Glenkens.
It was created in response to the devastating Foot and Mouth epidemic of 1998 and since then have consistently delivered high-quality arts and community development work for our remote-rural community. It is a key anchor organisation for the area, with a vision of making the Glenkens an excellent place to live for people of all ages.
