The purpose of the Community Action Plan Steering Group (CAP SG) is to be the custodian of the Glenkens and District Community Action Plan (the CAP). It will maintain the CAP and agree any updates.
The Glenkens & District Community Action Plan was published in 2020, and is owned and kept relevant by the CAP Steering Group, with support on delivery from GCAT. The Report also sets out the challenge and opportunities facing delivery of the CAP priorities as they aim for ever more ambitious delivery.
This feasibility study from SKS Consulting was commissioned by Glenkens & District Trust using Blackcraig funds in order to explore what solutions might be available to meet the challenges to local childcare provision.
This report was produced by Sleeping Giants CIC as part of their work with Community Enterprise on the Glenkens & District CAP set up phase. The aim of the report was to ensure that local learning from the Covid-19 pandemic could be incorporated into the CAP.
A report of potential improvements for each of eleven community buildings, to enable the management committees to develop bids for grant funding to make the buildings more sustainable, both environmentally and financially.
This report investigates two typical domestic building types common in the Glenkens: “Post-war” – a post 1940’s semi-detached bungalow reflective of housing seen throughout the area; and “Galloway Cottage” – a pre-1919 1.5-storey mid-terrace dwelling constructed of solid walls which make up the majority of the traditional housing stock throughout Glenkens.
