The Glenkens Community and Arts Trust (GCAT) hosted an Education and Learning event in the Glenkens on 11th July 2024, on behalf of the Glenkens and District Community Action Plan Steering Group.
Dalry Community Council with GCAT commissioned three complementary reports studying Land Use and Local Place Planning in the Glenkens. The studies were funded by SoSE and Nature Scot, to set out the next steps required to embed land use considerations in the Glenkens into the medium term.
The Network’s purpose is to bring these voluntary committees together for peer support and to encourage partnership working across the Glenkens. This report summarises the work done to date on these priorities, and sets out plans for the final year of the currently-funded delivery phase.

This Vision and the associated recommendations are intended as the first step to creating a balance in Glenkens land use where all voices are heard, respected and valued.
The Glenkens & District Community Action Plan was published in 2020, and is owned and kept relevant by the CAP Steering Group, with support on delivery from GCAT. The Report also sets out the challenge and opportunities facing delivery of the CAP priorities as they aim for ever more ambitious delivery.
The purpose of the Community Action Plan Steering Group (CAP SG) is to be the custodian of the Glenkens and District Community Action Plan (the CAP). It will maintain the CAP and agree any updates.
